About Us
An astonishing 382 years old, the Farm is being reborn as a community farm people of all ages can enjoy, offering certified-organic produce and other local farm products, educational programs for children and adults, seasonal volunteer opportunities, hiking trails that lead to conservation land, and special events for the community, fundraising initiatives, and private celebrations. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that relies on the financial support of the community to maintain our historic property, invest in our development and accomplish our volunteer-driven work.

Our Mission: The Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy builds broad community and seeks to model sustainable practices through active learning, organic agriculture, land stewardship, and an appreciation of our historic New England farm.
Practices
Wright-Locke Farm uses certified organic practices that are reviewed and approved each year by Baystate Organic Certifiers. We grow a wide range of market crops throughout the season on roughly 2 acres of cultivated land. Our main crops include raspberries, lettuces, kale and other greens, beets, onions, garlic, summer and winter squashes, cucumbers, tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, eggplant, potatoes, snap and snow peas, fresh and shell beans, radishes, turnips, rhubarb, concord grapes, and more. We also grow herbs, cultivate many varieties of flowers, and raise farm animals for products (fresh eggs, raw honey, and occasionally pasture-raised lamb meat and beautiful sheepskins). As a small farm, our fields are primarily cultivated by hand and with small tractors. We rely on one full-time farmer, a flower farmer, a small team of seasonal staff, and a host of volunteers to plant our crops, tend our fields and animals, and harvest our produce throughout the year.
